GLEN ALLEN BASEMENT FINISHING PROJECT
Finishing a basement means converting an unfinished low-ground space into a fully livable area by adding walls, flooring, and ceilings to make it similar to the rest of your home. This involves installing permanent systems for things like electricity, heating, and plumbing. Depending on the size of the space a variety of functional areas and even separate rooms can be created. Here we feature a Basement Finishing project for one of your neighbors in Glen Allen. The homeowners wanted a space to host out of town guests and it turned out fantastic.
We took this unfinished basement from an empty storage area to a cozy suite guests are going to love. There are so many items to share, such as the new kitchenette. The shaker style Diamond Cabinets by Masterbrand have a painted finish in Moonstone. They are topped with durable quartz countertops.
We love working on Basement Finishing projects. The best way for you to share in our excitement is for us to take you on the journey of converting this completely bare space into something magnificent.
We will begin with the Basement Designs and Renderings. You may notice that the renderings include a slide-in range and vent hood. Unfortunately, these items had to be removed in order for the building permit to be issued. Every jurisdiction has their own building codes.
Watch the following short videos to enjoy the transformation. We will walk you through the process sharing a few milestones during construction including when we were just getting started.

Now that this basement finishing project has been completed, this home has a wonderful additional living area. It is hard to imagine just a short time ago nothing was here.
Being a leading Kitchen Remodeler gives us plenty of experience working with a designer’s innovative ideas such as adding this microwave drawer and trash compactor into the island. Adding an island to any kitchen creates more storage and space for meal preparation.
Being a Bathroom Remodeler also allowed us to add a new bathroom to this finished basement. The walk-in shower includes marble look, large format tiles, a bench and a shampoo niche. A linen closet matching the vanity was added for additional storage.
It is important to create a space that has a cosmetically appealing vibe but is also functional. In addition to the walk-in closet, built in cabinetry was used to maximize storage in the bedroom area as well. A concealed stackable washer and dryer is another space saving technique.
In the kitchenette, the backsplash was taken to the ceiling for a finished and dramatic look. The white subway tile is a lovely compliment to the quartz countertops. Floating shelves could be added to further elevate the design.
